| What is it? It's a movie, a love story, starring you! "Our Story" Documentary Films are professionally-filmed and professionally-edited documentaries showcasing the couple's life together: how they grew up, how they met, when they fell in love, how he proposed, how they've changed each other's lives, etc. Interview footage of the couple is mixed with old photos and videos of the couple to create a slick and edgy film that tells their unique love story in a dazzingly creative way! (See our sample video above!) How does it work? The couple comes to our studio for a beautifully-lit interview about themselves. Interviews typically last 30-45 minutes, in which time the couple retraces the steps of their life together, recalling all the funny, romantic, memorable moments along the way. Interviews are fun, flexible, and personalized, conducted by an experienced producer skilled at drawing out the personality and texture of each story. After the interview, we collect from the couple anything meaningful to them (engagement photos, old photos, old videos, love letters, diary entries, mementos, etc). The producer then develops the storyline and works closely with the editor to put it all together. Several story drafts are made, music is mixed in, and the footage is polished into perfection to create an unmatched cinematic experience. Then what? At the wedding reception, we'll set up a projector and a screen (if necessary) and have a grand premiere of your love story for all your guests! This creates a huge splash and is one of the most memorable parts of the day! We've gotten a thunderous response from this, and one of the most common reactions from guests is, "I've never seen anything like that!" And after it all, you get to keep it! After the premiere, you're given the documentary on a DVD in a sleek custom case. It becomes the ultimate heirloom, a professionally-done depiction of moments that would otherwise exist only in your memory. Can we personalize it? Of course! That's the whole idea! Each story is unique, so every film is going to be unique. We are very open to creativity and personalization. We want to work with you, brainstorm with you, to make your film unlike any other. To stir your imagination, here are some ideas for creative directions we could take your story: - Old home video of the couple mixed into the documentary. - Inclusion of love letters, e-mails, diary entries, or even Internet chats. These can even be read in voice-over by the couple, or creatively reenacted using computerized graphics. - Interviews with best friends, parents, or siblings about the couple, and about what they were like growing up. - Video messages by the couple to their future kids or to their future selves (a cinematic time capsule!). - Video messages by the couple to guests who will be attending the wedding. - Revisiting significant sites from the couple's lives (where they grew up, where they met, where he proposed, etc) with a photographer and a videographer to record it for the documentary. - The photographer and/or videographer following you as you plan various aspects of the wedding (choosing the dress, picking out the flowers, etc). What's it cost? (See our packages below.) A lot of work goes into one of these. When you book us for a documentary, you're hiring the services of a professional TV producer, cameraman, and editor, who will spend days and days developing your unique story. You're hiring passionate and experienced storytellers who do this for a living. It is a high-end, premium option for your wedding, but we think it's worth every penny. Couples will spend thousands to hire a live band for their wedding, or for a certain wedding cake, and neither lasts beyond the wedding day. "Our Story" Documentary Films make a huge impact on the wedding day, but their true value is revealed years down the road as they become one of the few enduring mementos from the biggest day of your life.
